David Lynch Announces Debut LP; Releases First Single

Over the weekend, acclaimed screenwriter, filmmaker, and American surrealist David Lynch announced that he will be releasing his debut LP, Crazy Clown Time. Lynch is known for his incredibly intense, and darkly surreal films, such as the critically acclaimed Lost Highway and Blue Velvet, has created an electro-pop album that could score one of his films. The album, written and produced by Lynch, and performed by Lynch and mixer Dean Hurley, is stylistic similar to the soundtrack to 2010's The Social Network; an award winning score created by film composer Atticus Ross, and musical genius and NIN frontman Trent Reznor. The album features guest vocals from Yeah Yeah Yeah's vocalist Karen O on a track called "Pinky's Dream"; a track that no doubt promises to as haunting as it is beautiful. The aging surrealist's first venture into music has been getting some hype, and is definitely worth a listen. The first single, "Good Day Today" is available streaming below, and the album releases everywhere on November 8th.
