Ryan Adams is a difficult guy to keep up with. During the first decade of the millennium, he was releasing albums at a blistering pace. Some, like his debut solo album Heartbreaker and Cold Roses, the double album with his stellar backing band, The Cardinals, are classic alt-country releases. Others, like the dreadful Rock N Roll, are just that: dreadful. Adams seems to be slowing down these days with the releases, and maybe that is a better thing, judging by the first single from his upcoming October release Ashes & Fire. The acoustic based twangy number "Lucky Now" recalls some of Adam's best solo moments over the years.
