Preview: Foster the People

If you're an avid buffaBLOG reader (which you should be) then you might remember reading about Foster the People a few Fridays ago in our "Picking Up the Slack for MTV" feature.  This indie pop band has been blowing up in the music world with their songs "Pumped Up Kicks" and "Helena Beat" reaching high numbers on the Billboard Charts.  Buffalo is lucky enough to have a chance to see them live tonight at the Tralf.  I honestly can't remember the last time I heard of a sold out show at The Tralf considering how much room there is in the venue but Foster the People managed to do it.  They have a similar style to popular bands like MGMT and Passion Pit with their danceable beats and falsetto singing.  I am looking forward to their live show which should prove to be upbeat and high energy. The band will be fresh off their Lollapalooza performance and will definitely rock out the Tralf. I hope you're lucky enough to have purchased your ticket when they were only $17 because they are hard to find now.  Doors are at 7pm, show starts at 8 pm with We Barbarians opening.

  1. Great blog!

For a different take on the song, check out Oak & Gorski's cello/guitar cover of Pumped Up Kicks here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-SmtjjjG3o
