Brooklyn based piano pop musician Abby Payne will be stopping by Merge tonight while on tour supporting her latest EP Sasquatch. The former UB student crafts the same type of appealing pop songs that vaulted Leslie Feist into international fame. Using a 5 piece band, Abby's creates a very complete sound that encompasses elements from many different types of music. Take for example the single "Lost and Found" which you can stream below. The song includes a bumping bass rift and hand clapping drums typical of 80's dance music, but also incorporates a Caribbean steel drum chorus line that gives the song a unique hook that's undeniably catchy. Fans of Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, Mates of State, or the even the aforementioned Feist should make sure to get there by 10pm for a night of free indie pop you wont soon forget.
