Tonight: Alice Cooper

Tonight is the second to last Buffalo Place Rocks The Harbor show, and it features Rock n' Roll Hall of Famer / metal icon Alice Cooper. Alice Cooper has been mainstay in rock music since the mid-60's, winning over audiences and fans with his anti-establishment, high octane music, and his over the top theatrical stage shows have been as groundbreaking as they have been horrifying. Paving the way for acts like Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, and metal acts of all kinds, Cooper's presence in rock music has remained constant, and his nationally syndicated radio show is one of the highest rated in the country. He always puts on a wild show, and tonight should be no different. Opening for "Mr. Nice Guy" are the heaviy touring, cult heroes Anvil. Anvil is another one of metal's pioneer acts, hitting the UK music scene in the late 70's, and ushering in the era of 80's metal that included bands like Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer. Anvil has been touring constantly for the past 30 years, and in 2008, roadie Sacha Gervasi put together a documentary on the band. It became the UK's best selling documentary ever, and the unsung metal heroes finally started getting their just desserts. This will no doubt be a night for copious head banging. As always, tickets are $10 if you bought them in advance, $20 at the door, and the show gets started around 6pm.
