Tonight Mohawk Place (47 E. Mohawk St.) will host Purity Ring with openers Love Scenes and Early Attic. Purity Ring is a female fronted haunting electronic band that arose from the ashes of spazz-electro band Gobble Gobble. Spooky singer Megan James sings beautifully over dark, glitchy and warped downtempo melodies and programmed beats. The band has been featured as part of Pitchfork’s best new music section back in January and is opening for Com Truise, Neon Indian, and Yacht this fall. Fans of the Knife, Salem, or Lykke Li should check this out. It’s an early one, with doors at 7 pm and there is a $12 cover.
