Tonight: Six Organs of Admittance

Ben Chasny certainly knows how to stay busy. When he is not playing guitar for his psychedic outfit, Comets on Fire, or contributing to other projects (see: Magik Markers, Badgerlore) he is concocting songs under his moniker, Six Organs of Admittance. Six Organ's sound falls somewhere between folk, psychedelia and droney percussive guitar music, i.e. it's not very classifiable, and thats a good thing in the case for Chasny; his music seems to resonate from the bowels of his soul, as is often the case with great artists, and we're just travellers along for the ride. What's most impressive about Six Organs is the sheer amount of output that's been released. Since it's creation in the late 90's, Ben has compiled almost 20 unique releases, including 7" and LPs, for several different labels. Tonight, Ben will be bringing some of his magic (and hopefully some of those sought after releases) with him to Mohawk Place along with opener, Joseph Lapaglia. The show starts at 8pm so those who have to worry in the morning fear not. Should be over fairly early. $10 gets you in the door.
