Tonight: AudioInflux, Slip Madigan, Wise Medicine

It's a show for musicians tonight at Nietzsche's, because there will be many proficient ones on stage. Rochester's AudioInflux will be headlining a show that will also feature local bands Slip Madigan and Wise Medicine, and there's no predicting the total number of musical genres that will be spanned. AudioInflux is a jazz-funk-soul-blues band that is just as likely to bust out some hip hop or drum and bass, with songs as catchy as they are groovy and danceable. Wise Medicine is an ever-morphing collection of some of the area's finest musicians; I saw a version of the band under the name Influent at the Tudor Lounge last year, and they blew the few people who were there away with their prog-funk madness. And Slip Madigan, fresh off a killer set opening for Aqueous at Mister Goodbar two weeks ago, is as likely to explore an extended reggae vamp as they are to bust out the Allman Brothers' "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." Simply put, if you like watching really talented musicians switch between improvisation and tightly composed grooves, be at Nietzsche's tonight. Show starts at 10 p.m.
