Tonight three of Buffalo's biggest upcoming, eclectic rock bands steal the stage at Mohawk Place. Autopunch, The B Side Dubs, and Cosmic Shakedown will be coming together to throw down a night of jam infused, rock n' roll nastiness. Cosmic Shakedown will be getting the night going with a bang. Probably the evening's "heaviest" band, the dropped tuned, neo-psychedelics bring a hard rocking blues edge to the table, and can occasionally create a low tom heavy rumble that shakes their audience to the core. Following the Shakedown are local reggae rockers The B Side Dubs. Blending traditional ska, reggae, and dub influence with experimental echoes, heavy electronics, keys, and the occasional e-drum, the Dubs create a unique sound that is all their own. And closing out the evening will be the twangy jam styles of Autopunch. Drawing influence from funk driven jam bands such as Moe., but incorporating influence from harder blues inspired rock like Rage Against the Machine, Autopunch is becoming one of Buffalo's definitive jam bands. This no doubt will be a great show, and there should be musical moments that will appease all tastes throughout the night.
