Tonight at The Tralf, Carbon leaf, a five piece indie rock band out of Richmond, Virginia take front stage. Carbon Leaf is known for their alternative country and celtic/bluegrass indie rock stylings. In the early 90's Carbon Leaf spent the majority of their time running the college circuit on the east coast. The band gained quite the following and released four albums under The Constant Ivy Music record label. In 2004, Carbon Leaf announced they would be signing with Vanguard Records. Fans were not overly impressed with the material that came from the releases under their new label and felt the band had gone rather mainstream. In 2010 the band amicably split from Vanguard Records to pursue returning to their indie roots and releasing music on their own time frame. Carbon Leaf took notice of the decline in physical media sales and took to the internet to interact with fans and release new work this way. Tonights gig kicks off at 8:00 pm with Chamberlain getting things started. Tickets are $12.
