Tonight sees the pinnacle of 5 years of hard work for Buffalo born poet Josh Smith, as his DVD Adrenaline Child is set to be released at a congratulatory swareé at 464 Gallery on Amherst St. Starting out as a stand up comedian, and eventually making the transition to spoken word and poetry, Smith has been performing his work since 2006, and has been making quite a name for himself. He has been nominated for Artvoice's Best of Buffalo in multiple categories since 2009, including Best Poet and Best Spoken-Word Artist, and won an Infringy during 2009's Buffalo Infringement Festival for Best Hair. The DVD includes a series of interviews, and 9 full performances of Josh's work, hand chosen by the artists himself. The event is free, and will include a DVD signing, reception, and performance by Josh, but the DVD will cost you $10. Things get started around 7pm, and as always, there will be plenty of beautiful art to view at 464 as well.
