Often, the label “jam band” is applied disparagingly: there's a lot of lackluster Phish-wannabes out there. The term might, unfortunately, be the best classification for Athens, Ohio's Papadosio, but don't let that discourage you from checking them out. Though some of their improvisation breaks might get a little bit string-cheesy, they also bring enough rich electro, acid jazz, and dance ingredients to create a delectable whole. Listen to the track “You and Yourself,” get into it, then make the trip down to see them blast it out at Mohawk Place tonight ($15 adv/$17 door, 8pm).
