Tonight: A Hawk & a Hacksaw w/The Mordaunt Sisters

Marty Boratin & Susan Tanner's House Concert Series returns tonight with a performance from Albuquerque's A Hawk & a Hacksaw, a duo featuring former Neutral Milk Hotel drummer Jeremy Bates on drums and accordion and violinist Heather Trost.  Fans of fellow New Mexico native Zach Condon aka Beirut's Eastern European infused Gypsy folk would be wise to make the trek to Hamburg tonight for one of Buffalo's more unique live music experiences.  Also playing tonight's House Concert are the Mordaunt Sisters who just recently played the Handsome Jack CD Release Party last week.  With only a handful of shows under their belt, the group, who remind us of a haunted Americana version of Beach House, are quickly becoming one of our favorite and most promising Buffalo acts.

Tonight's House Concert at Marty & Susan's house (7341 Nelson Drive in Hamburg) begins at 7:00, with a pot-luck cook out beginning at 5:00.  BYOB and BYOC(chair) of course.  Show is rain or shine, as their house can comfortably fit a 50 person audience if the weather does not permit.  The suggested donation is $10.
