Acoustic folk duo The Milk Carton Kids will be making a stop at The Ninth Ward tonight. The group from Eagle Rock, California deliver a soft Americana sound that excels in simplicity.  Using sparse acoustic guitar picking over harmonizing vocals that seem to float in the air forever, the band plays to its strength (its modesty) and never over reaches.  The camp fire vocals will hold your attention while the comfortable guitar arrangements set a relaxing atmosphere. Like a modern day Simon & Garfunkel or Calexico without the drums, this the type of music that comes straight from the heartland. Opening the show will be Gaby Moreno and tickets are only 10 bucks. Doors open at 7pm.
