Tonight Colombia-based British trip hop sensation Quantic stops at DBGB's to perform a DJ set. Quantic, born Will Holland, is a music mastermind, and though he will be spinning a set of world music infused trip hop, he often plays with a full band, known as The Quantic Soul Orchestra. He spends most of his time in Colombia recording with musicians from all over the world, and the incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist/DJ has a various array of side projects, and a label to promote and distribute his work, as well as the work of other artists. He has really begun to infuse tropidelic and Latin music into his work, and even has a island-dub side project called Quantic Presenta Flowering Inferno, which has release two albums. He will be playing along with Dub-allstar, Mad Professor. Mad Professor (aka Neil Joseph Fraizer) has, along with Lee "Scratch" Perry, been one of the founders of Dub music, and its bastard child, dub-step. He has worked with tons of musicians, most notably Sly and Robbie, Sade and Massive Attack, and his 30+ years experience in producing will definitely make this great night of music. Opening up will be local dub-step fave Big Basha, and a few others that are as of yet unannounced. The show starts around 9:30, tickets will cost you $15 in advance.
