There is no denying that Buffalo has a long term love affair going with Great Big Sea, the Canadian folk/rock band from Newfoundland and Labrador.  Whether you are a hard core fan or looking to experience celtic infused rock for the first time, definitely check out Sean McCann & The Committed tonight at the Town Ballroom.  McCann, one of the founding members of Great Big Sea, has seen great success on his solo project since 2010 when he released his first album Lullabies for Bloodshot Eyes.  His latest effort, Son of a Sailor brings together a great acoustic sound with that memorable raspy voice.  His upbeat songs are played along to Irish reels on violin in the background, while still keeping a rocking edge.  Opening up for McCann tonight is Buffalo favorite McCarthyizm. Tickets for tonight's show are $20 and doors open at 7pm. This should be a pretty intimate show with limited capacity and seating for all attendees.
