The Drum Machine Report

Wait a minute.

Help on the way. Inside this week’s Drum Machine Report you will find out whats happening this weekend in Buffalo. That is if you like to go out and party. If that’s not you, stop reading now. This is for those who enjoy new and dirty fun, not the clean good old fashioned stuff. But the new new. What’s hot and what’s really good.

Now that it’s October everything will be dark themed and dripping in black. Harvesting all of the hallowed spirits from the grave to bring out the worst of us, before the crystallization of Winter sets in. And what a breeding ground for hateful sentiments and violent actions that may become! Personally,I don’t enjoy Skrillex, and its not because it’s cool to hate on him. It’s because he crossed the line by taking something cool and underground and pushing it towards a younger main-stream audience. Basically it aggravates me that my step-brother in high school (no offense to him) believes he’s well versed in popular electronic music thanks to the new pushers like Skrillex and Mt. Eden. But those of you who know me know that I am above that hate. You must understand that everyone’s likes and dislikes are different. I like Diplo, and he and Skrillex are apparently buds. Dillon Francis, one of my favs, is headlining the after parties for the Mothership tour. They’re probably both deuchy. Wesley wasn’t.

More often than not the haters are in the minority. For example: perhaps you would be embarrassed to admit you like Justin Timberlake or Kanye or whatever; no matter what you can still justify it to anyone solely based on the broad popularity of the music itself. So get over it. I am. Know that you’re allowed to hate and allowed to like.

Zeds Dead is gaining notoriety themselves; in my opinion, in an explosive and exploratory way. And their name is sweet. The range that they displayed when I saw them at the Mad Decent Block Party absolutely surprised me. Tonight should be special. Veterans of the Toronto scene DC and Hooks will emanate the broad soundscape of that city through dubstep, house, and drum and bass. We’re happy to welcome them here in Buffalo, and kick this weekend off. With Hockey beginning and the Bills intact, Autumnal Buffalo is blooming with sounds and sights.

Witch House? Which House? Witch House. Hi my name is Svetlana. Though I was born in Long Island I developed a Russian accent from drinking too much vodka in dark Brooklyn holes and a muted desire to be hip. This cigarette tastes like shit and I never wanna go home. I am a new age witch! The kind you don’t want to run into after five lines and a purse drink. Wear black.
