New Tom Waits Album Available Streaming

Back in August, after announcing his new album Bad As Me, Tom Waits made a satirical video in response to the online leak of some of the tracks originally intended for "private listening parties". The video features Waits claiming he has "...rethink the whole thing," and ends with him jamming the new album in a vintage car, and a line of people waiting to sit in for a few minutes. Web nerds took it with a grain of salt, and thought it was just Waits making a point about leaking music. It was announced via his e-mail list yesterday that Bad As Me is now available streaming on the album's website. This is an invite only party, however. Anyone on the mailing list received the link, plus five more for friends. Those not on his e-mail list can request an invitation via the album site. Waits clearly did not enjoy having his music leaked from the private listening party he established for online music writers, and has found another way to be semi-exclusive with the online distribution of his music. There are, seemingly, a finite number of links to the music, and it may take a spell to receive a link. The album comes out a week from today (Oct. 25th), and rest assured it is not anything like "...having a root canal and rinsing with raw sewage."
