Call it what you want: "dubstep," "brostep," "popstep". Actually I think I just made that last one up, but regardless, this stuff is infectious. Skrillex or Sonny Moore's brand of dubstep is sweeping the nation and causing quite the stir. For a guy who was in a screamo band as a young teen and then decided he wanted to make electronic dance music, this youngin has really found his niche. For his first time, Skrillex comes in to Buffalo for what might be a Columbus Day miracle. I have been anticipating this show since the day it was announced, but then Skrillex had to go and sweeten the deal by hosting an after party with none other than Dillon Francis. So, not only do I have to fight losing my damn mind during Skrillex, I have to somehow find the will to endure and entire evening of amazing music.
Tonight is expected to be something from another planet. The tour is dubbed as the "Mothership" tour and honestly is falling nothing short of just that. Skrillex's new set up is a spectacle, the light show and visuals he has brought along with him are just phenomenal, and just to make it even more ridiculous, there is a digital dummy on the screen that mimics everything Skrillex does. Foreign Beggars will be getting the outrageousness started and setting the tone for what will be one evening you will not want to miss. Tickets for this bad boy have been sold out since pretty much the show was announced so if you do not have tickets, make sure you are ready to pony up at least a cool hundy if you are trying to scalp. I know I bought my tickets right away so if you have tickets, I will see you there and then you will see me losing my mind. I wouldn't have it any other way.
