Tonight Buffalo State College’s Student Union hosts the 10 piece funk band Turkuaz. The band is a mix between James Brown and Chin Chin, providing the audience with an ample amount of energy to keep the listeners moving and grooving. After being named one of the Top 5 bands to see in New York City in 2010 by Deli Magazine, Turkuaz is quickly becoming THE funk band of NYC. Since forming in 2007, Turkuaz has played Phish after parties, opened for countless established acts, and regularly plays the Brooklyn cooler-than-thou secret loft parties. If you are looking for a funk band that plays louder, faster, and harder than anything you are used to, then you should probably check this one out. Doors are at 8:30 with a $5 cover.
