Just Announced: Cults

First Soundlab.  Then the Ninth Ward.  Next up:  Mohawk Place.  Looks like the NYC indie pop act Cults are trying to complete the Buffalo music venue circuit as plan to make a stop this spring on Monday, April 23rd at the legendary venue as a part of their 2012 tour.  When we first caught Cults, who were still riding the huge buzz of their first two singles, the sun drenched psychedelia of "Oh My God" and "Go Outside", they were playing with the Magic Kids at Soundlab.  And, as Bill and I can tell you, the hype was real.  Since then, the band's self titled debut album has become a hit, landing itself on many of the best of lists of 2011.  Time will only tell if the Cults rise will continue, do make sure to check them out this spring before they get too big for your wallet's sake.  Tickets for the show cost $17 in advance and $20 day of, and go on sale this Friday (12/16) at noon.

  1. Kyle S - And this will mark the 5th time I've been in the same city as Cults and not been able to make it. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever actually get to see them.

  2. I actually got as far as the venue in Toronto, but the line was so long at Lee's Palace I was confident I was never going to get in and kindly fucked off.

  3. You are missing out. We loved their show at Soundlab. I missed the Ninth Ward one though

  4. I saw them play like one song at Dundas square during NXNE. It was after I caught the excellent Jay Reatard movie with like 12 people.
