Holiday parties here in Buffalo have really begun to kick it into gear, and one of our most anticipated shows(outside of a little something scheduled for next week) goes down tonight. Potomac Ave based pay what you like label, Steak & Cake Records, will be hosting their first annual holiday party tonight at Mohawk Place. The lineup boasts a handful of buffaBLOG favorites including Harvestsum's garage rock trio Johnny Nobody, 90's alt rock and dreap pop fusion Nelson Type, and the still mysterious bluesy trio turned quintet Sea Snake Vs. The remainder of the lineup includes jazz ensemble Easy Mouth, hip-hop artist Casey B., and the noise rock styling of Super Computer. Not too bad. Not too bad at all.
Tonight's showcase doubles as a charity event as proceeds go to the Buffalo Public Schools Foundation in order to help provide new music instrument to Buffalo Public Schools. Buffalo Schools Superintendent Dixon will also be on hand tonight to to thank the label and say a few words.
Between the stellar lineup and the charitable cause, attending tonight's show is a no brainer. Music begins at 9:00pm this evening with a cover of $8.
