"Yellow" is one those songs where you can listen to it regardless of your mood and it seems to fit what your feeling. Coldplay has perfected this kind of song... which is one of the reasons why they are so freaking popular. This year, Sara Bareilles did a solo piano cover of the song "Yellow". It definitely sides more on the depressing mood the song can possess but really strips down to how simply beautiful the song really is.
This isn't the first time Bareilles covered a pop song, last year she covered Beyonce's "Single Ladies". She takes the song and really invents it to fit more her style of music... what she does with the song is exactly why I love covers. You can hear "Single Ladies" a million times on the radio but I'm sure you never thought you'd hear it like this.
