It's been a while since I've heard a chipmunk voice remix of a song that appealed to me. It's also been a while since I've listened to a hop hop mixtape more than once. ASAP Rocky seemingly came out of nowhere this past summer with the hit single "Peso", which reportedly netted the rapper a $3 million dollar record contract. His mixtape LiveLoveA$AP has been my pre-game soundtrack on more than one occasion this year. This remix comes courtesy of Star Slinger, a UK producer who, after perusing the internet, has made a shitload of remixes. Mr. Slinger has more than a little fun with the voice modulation on this one, giving the track a throwback breakdance quality, but the remix manages to impress on a technical level that these sorts of tracks often fall short on. Check out both versions below and try to pretend you don't dance with a staggering white boy awkwardness that is neither appealing nor ironically endearing.
