Today Metallica announced a number of the acts to be featured at this June's Orion Music Festival; a two day festival to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Black Album. To the surprise of many, the lineup is quite good. I, like most in the critic community, thought that this might be a collection of cheesy metal acts, however, it seems the band learned something when they performed at Bonnaroo. The lineup thus far includes: Modest Mouse, Fucked Up, Cage The Elephant, Liturgy, Titus Andronicus, Best Coast, The Sword, the Arctic Monkeys, and Avenged Sevenfold, among others. The full lineup, and schedule has yet to be released, however, the band has announced they will play The Black Album and Ride The Lightning in their entirety on alternating nights. The festival takes places the 23rd & 24th of June in Atlantic City, NJ, and 2-day passes will cost you anywhere between $125-$225, depending on what kind of access you want, and when / how you purchase. More information can be found on the festival's home page, which you can access here.

I love how they have to promise not to play "the new crap"
