London Bass duo Maribou State just dropped their latest EP Olivia on Fat! Records yesterday. The two track EP features the Title track "Olivia" and "Bricks" along with several remixes including THIS one by UK newcomer MAO. While keeping the important soulful vocal sample (a warped Mary J. Blige), he completely deconstructs the remaining pieces, and shapes the song into a broody stroll through a late night. The music video for the originally is pretty damn cool and suggestive so give that a whirl, then make sure to listen to the remix with subs on or at least a decent pair of headphones to do the bass justice.
