Tonight, Ava Luna will be headlining the Ninth Ward at Babeville (341 Delaware Ave.) with support from local acts Applennium and The Etchings. Ava Luna is a Brooklyn-based septet, lead by Carlos Hernandez’ R&B vocals backed by sultry fashionistas pumping out hip soul music for the hip twenty-something. They will be supported by The Etchings, an incredibly British-sounding (Aqualung meets Snow Patrol with a little bit of Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s) local foursome who might be on your radar due to their key spot opening for Bedouin Sound Clash last summer at the Town Ballroom. Also on the bill is Buffalo-based Appelennium, a very clean sounding and very vocal-centric quartet reminiscent of First Aid Kit or Band Of Horses. Doors are at 7pm with an 8 doll hair cover.
