Funtime Presents and Supernaut Booking announced today that Austin psychedelic rockers The Black Angels will be playing the Town Ballroom Saturday, August 4th with Night Beats. I know nothing about Night Beats, but The Black Angels opened for Black Mountain at the Tralf Beggar's Night 2010 and they utterly and unexpectedly melted my brain with their sublime 60's psychedelia (no flowers, just The Doors, The Velvet Underground, and a smidgen of Jefferson Airplane) and excellent light show. Tickets are $18 in advance and $22 day of, and they go on sale this Friday April 13 at the Town Ballroom box office and online at Tickets.com.
