You're probably working a full shift today... leaving early and going to the beach is certainly not something going through the minds of most people this afternoon. You're probably cruising around the internet looking for ideas of what to do this evening (preferably indoors). You're probably not going to be looking any longer...
...that is because Kingsley Flood has taken a drive down the I-90 from Boston to play a show at DBGB's this evening at 10:00pm.
The six-piece Boston outfit brings a a soulful brand of Americana to the stage and couples it with the roaring energy usually associated with bands playing much heavier music. They have received much acclaim in both their native Boston and nationwide via the likes of NPR and others.
Opening the evening will be Son of the Sun who have been very well received in the Upstate New York area since releasing their debut EP in 2008. They take the "wall of sound" idea and reign it in, evoking pristine, reverbed melodies.
