Tonight: Chris Robinson Brotherhood

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood rolls into Buffalo this evening for a stop at Town Ballroom.  Chris Robinson's latest musical collective have been together for about a year and a half now and just released their first album Big Moon Ritual this past June (with the followup, The Magic Door, expected out in September).

CRB is a bit of a departure from the riff heavy anthems of The Black Crowes, the band that gave Robinson his fame.  This outfit is much more laid back in the sense that the eschew some of the searing lead parts for more of a jam band influenced, free from adventure.

While this may be the bane of some, it is a shining light to others.  CRB still has a bit of a Southern-rock flair but the cowboy boots may have been traded in for Birkenstocks on this go 'round.

If you prefer your rock hard and concise you may want to continue waiting for the possibility of a Black Crowes reunion... If extended jams and folk-influenced songs are more your tune then you should make sure you get downtown for the show tonight.

Doors are at 7:00PM and tickets are $24
