Listen to King Krule's new track "Octopus"

King Krule aka Zoo Kid aka Archy Marshall is a British musician who floored a lot of people last year when he released his excellent debut self-titled EP. For some it was baffling to hear such a distinctive and mature sound, a fusion of blues, dark wave, and dub-step influence, coming from a 17-year-old, and for others it was the juxtaposition of his gaunt, red-headed stature against deep, thuggish vocals.

Since the EP he's been readying new music and will be releasing the 7-inch "Rock Bottom" on September 24 (via Rinse) of which the b-side, "Octopus," has just been made available for listening. With expansive guitars and vibrant synths as the backdrop for Marshall's hallowed-out vocals the track is quite mesmerizing. Especailly when that saxophone kicks in toward the end.

Listen to "Octopus" below and also watch Marshall in a Take Away Show at last year's Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris where he played an older song, "Baby Blue."
