Picking up the Slack for MTV: Nosaj Thing

It's been 3 years since Nosaj Thing released a full studio album, and since then, he's only put out a couple of remixes. It's a rather sparse activity for a 27 year old producer on the cutting edge of beat production. In September, however, he spontaneously released an original track which features the hypnotic vocals of Blonde Redhead's, Kazu Makino, over an oscillating synth melody. The song, entitled "Eclipse/Blue,"  is a display of Nosaj Thing at his most intimate, arousing feelings that equally attest to the aftermath of a loss and pinholes of optimism (as the pads command). The official companion video, released two weeks ago, is a feat of its own, adding a visual dimension to the song's emotional spirit.  The result of the clever combination of celestial geometric patterns, via projection technology, and what can be (loosely) described as interpretative dancing.
