Tonight: Mohawk Dies, A Hundred Bands Play

After a few months of rumors and question marks, Buffalo's staple rock dive bar, Mohawk Place, announced that they would be closing their doors forever in January. But the place is going out with a bang: from the just-passed Chylde reunion show, to the last-minute announcement that Kid In The Hall's Dave Foley will be doing standup at this Friday's Hollerado show, the booze-drenched venue is making sure it goes out in a blaze of glory.

Regulars are certainly familiar with Mohawk's Small Stage - often used as an incidental Balcony at regular shows, the Small Stage has been the go-to for self-amplifiable groups and between-set performances. Tonight, a handful of bands are going to bring it to life for maybe the last time, with short sets vaguely promised by Returners, Unwelcome Guest, White Whale, Matt and the Immediates, Johns, Mapmaker, Red Delicious, Dream Journal, Lads, Cold Comfort, Sexists, Empty Room, and more. Head down; 47 E. Mohawk St, 7PM, and it's FREE (tip your bartender).
