Canada native Troy Beetles, aka Datsik, will be bringing his gritty, dirt-caked, bass driven two step-beats to the Town Ballroom tonight. “I think dubstep has become so huge because it’s a complete bastardization of electronic music," he says. His unique concoction of the genre, a mixture of drum & bass, hip-hop, and electronica, has been hailed as "future-tech dance-floor" and he certainly knows how to get the crowd moving. At only 24, Beetles has shared the stage with dance-floor superstars that even a pop-informed soccer mom could name on the top of her head: Steve Aoki, Skream, Diplo, Bassnectar, and Crystal Method come to mind. Tonight, he'll be supported by up and coming producers Mayhem and Gutter. Needless to say, it's something you bassheads of Buffalo don't want to miss. Tickets are $20 and doors open at 7:30. See ya there.
