Tonight: Young Empires


Canada's Young Empires have only been together for less than four years but have already gained a huge following, and are one of the most critically acclaimed bands to come from up north in years. Their 2011 debut, Wake All My Youth, was a huge success, earning rave reviews and spawning three hit singles on the Canadian pop charts.

 The band is already big in their homeland, and are now poised to take over the States. Tonight, they'll be playing at The Waiting Room (8pm, $14). If you've never heard the band before, this would be a great opportunity to do so. The sound is somewhere between The Zombies and Speaking In Tongues era Talking Heads. This maybe your last chance to see them before they breakthrough in America.

    love this band. there was about 50 people at the town ballroom show this winter. cant wait for tonight even with the departure of aaron.
