Listener's Digest: Cults - "I Can Hardly Make You Mine"

If there is one act that desperately needed to release new music, it's Cults. The Brooklyn band's 2011 self titled debut felt like it came out ages ago, and those songs feel worn out at this point. Luckily, a new album, Static, is on the way this fall, and NPR's All Songs Considered just debuted the first single. On the rather exhilarating "I Can Hardly Make You Mine," the band moves away from the sunny, retro pop stylings of "Go Outside" and "Oh My God" to a more swirling, psych garage sound. The booming, angelic vocals of Madeline Follin continue to shine. You can listen to the song exclusively on NPR right here. Static will be released on October 15th.
