"Listen to the words I 'm saying in this line/ life will be just fine/ these troubles will not stay/ they get replaced with good times/ now you gotta realize/ smile as you walk by, thinking about the day." Those lyrics make you feel good, right? They should. Twiddle's music settles into our ears this way, a lighthearted composition of jazzy tunes that's perfect for skipping. This Vermont-based quartet has a way with words, especially on their latest album, Somewhere On The Mountain, that touches on the thoughts of a working-man, like on songs such as "Daydream Farmer" and "When It Rains It Poors." Twiddle combines a delicate balance of reggae, acoustic, with a light-jazz feel. Rochester-based Ocupanther will kick things off, followed by The Mantras. This will be downright joyous, so put on your Happy Hat and get down to Nietzsches, 9 p.m. 13 smiles will get you in the door.
