Aircraft has long been considered one of Buffalo's most prolific and talented acts... So we of course have to shine a light on bassist James Warren's side project, Animal Hospital. Warren mixes together drum machine beats and ethereal guitars to create something along the lines of Washed Out or Electric President sans vocals; think chillwave or experimental. I also couldn't help but notice that despite being named Animal Hospital, all of Warren's new songs titles reference insects ("Army Ants," "Drone Stuck," "Beetles")... Cryptic. Check them out below.

This reminds me of a bunch of stuff....Ratatat, Sigur Ros, Brian Eno, Radiohead, maybe a little a shoegazey post- hardcore emo stuff like Appleseed Cast. And of course James' playing in At Sea and Aircraft. whadda y'all hear?
Cool stuff.
Aircraft sucks ass. Saw them open for some other band at Town Ballroom and my god they were horrible. Unoriginal sound, poor stage presence and the lead singer looks like he's trying to be some Russell Brand-esque, bohemo-glam rock superstar. Obviously he failed and ended up looking like a fruity 30 something year old wearing cheap loafers, but the point is he tried--and failed.
It's sad that writing "local" heavily involves plugging artists whose only merit is that they're "local." It seems to matter less that they are medicore musicians. Wannabe journalists writing about wannabe rock stars. No wonder the Buffalo scene is inhabited by massive dickbutts.

What have you created lately?
I'm the creator of the above mentioned songs. Just wanted to add some info. I did these as a school project. I didn't intend on releasing them as is, just uploading them to bandcamp so that certain people could check them. I'm not sure how they came to Buffablog's attention (I told no one about them except one professor) but I appreciate their interest. I do not consider these songs done and will probably be taking them down eventually. If anyone is interested in adding to them feel free to contact me. Thanks to everyone for the compliments and criticisms. -JW
I wish this record were longer, I want more.
You - the one who thinks Aircraft sucks - remove yourself from the gene pool - you are clearly maladapted.
Aircraft is a great Buffalo band. Anonymous, what happened in your life? Did you fail at everything? Did you not get any love? Is your crappy band only drawing five people a night? You must need a hug. And I'll send my name: Doug Sitler. I'm easy to find and not hiding behind not putting my name.
