Emo is back! I guess it's semi-official at least. Maybe we're just lumping every imperfect, heartfelt band into that one big category... Needless to say, one of Buffalo's newest emo offerings is Alleys, who self recorded their debut EP, It Happened Because They Left, and had it mixed by GCR's Jay Zubricky. Combining clever wordplay ("quell" is a personal favorite) with bouncy guitar riffs, Alleys could draw comparisons to now-defunct Rochester band Keeler, or emo mainstays like Everyone Everywhere or You Blew It!
