Made Violent got 2014 started right by dropping a righteous jam New Year’s Eve for Buffalo and the world to enjoy in the (snowy) new year. “Wasted Days” really is the perfect tonic for these lost days of January as the lads have expanded their Oasis inflected sounds to include some vintage Strokes riffs while retaining the muscular potency that seems to be integral to Buffalo’s local scene. Is it an ode to weed? Only their horticulturist knows for sure, and anyways, weed’s going mainstream, so who cares? With The Malones on permanent hiatus, somebody needs to keep that downtown vibe going in Buffalo, and I’m thrilled Made Violent, currently on tour downstate in the city, is stepping up. Everybody seems to be looking for somebody to break out this year. Will it be Made Violent? We’ll see. In the meantime, here’s their first salvo of 2014.
