Last week, East Amherst bred producer/songwriter, Joe Mason, released the first single off his yet-to-be-named, full length set for release this spring. Currently spending the academic year at SUNY Purchase majoring in studio production, the newcomer's first summer ready single, titled "The Same," borrows from bands like Phoenix, Washed Out, and maybe even Albert Hammond Jr. If you are looking for a local comparison, Go Exploring would be a good place to start, as both Mason and Matt Schime seem to favor warm flourishes of sound and texture.
