Tonight: Jazzbollah vs. Jazzbollah

Jazzbollah vs. Jazzbollah is a unique event where many different Buffalo-based musicians share the stage with one other. Tonight there will be 3 different sets with 2 different groups of musicians. At the end of the night all of the participating musicians will join forces to create one super-band for the final set of the evening. For anyone that's into local music, it's quite easy to recommend this event. I have no word on any cover charge, so you may want to call in advance. If you somehow skipped over the poster the show starts at 9PM at Nietzsche's.

Participating Musicians:

-Group 1-
Keyboard: Mike Sentman (A.Pudding), Guitar: Jason Kunz (Motel Furnishing), Bass: Brian Gorman (Early Attic, buffaBLOG), Drums: Ryan Campbell (Rhubarb, Peanut Brittle Satellite).

-Group 2-
Guitar: T.j. Grace (Love Scenes), Gutar: Brian Quinn (Ould Pound), Bass: Matt Eppolito (A. Pudding), Drums: Geoffrey Peters (Shapes of States)

Infringement Festival Day Nine

Today is day nine of the Buffalo Infringement Festival. You are probably like me and thinking “I have seen so many awesome bands this week, I am so lucky to experience this for an additional three more days of bands.” This is the home stretch. Did I mention that buffaBLOG has its very own party tomorrow?

5:45 pm – 6:45 pm Eppo @ Allentown Music
Get an early start to your night at Allentown Music (1113 Elmwood) with Eppo , an experimental electronic musician hailing from our very own Buffalo, NY. Eppo is meshes world influences with downtempo ambient grooves to make a soundtrack that would be perfect for your next trip to the planetarium.

9 pm – 1 am Sonny Baker/Cinnamon Aluminum/A Motel Furnishing/A Hotel Nourishing @ Slyboots
Head on over to Slyboots (350 Ellicott St.) to see four bands are in some way, shape, or form related to Sonny Baker. Starting off the line-up Sonny plays reflective acoustic guitar drive folk songs. Next it’s time to get a little weird with Cinnamon Aluminum, an experimental indie rock band drawing inspiration from Frank Zappa to Animal Collective. Third is A Motel Furnishing, a band that is impossible to google. Batting clean-up is the duo of Sonny Baker and Cam Rogers playing as A Hotel Nourishing. This talented twosome sounds like a mathy-er Minus the Bear was fronted by Jim James of My Morning Jacket. Yes, it’s that good.

2 am Shapes of States @ Soundlab
Finish off your Friday night (or start your Saturday morning) with Shapes of States at the Soundlab (110 Pearl St). S.o.S is a drum and bass electronic jam band that’s ambience should be the soundtrack to your next dream with a fight sequence. Do not be surprised if these guys are at Camp Bisco next year.
