The outer harbor is hosting Edgefest number whatever today, succinctly marginalizing the most promising new venue in the Buffalo area. While I think it's noble that the powers that be enabled the land to be put to the valuable use of convincing 103.3 The Edge they're still a thing, across town there are people working hard to actually support the city's growing music scene.  Today is the final day of the Tralf's three day long Betterdays Independent Music Festival. If you've coughed up the $10 to get in Friday or Saturday night, that means your ticket is still good for tonight. Why would you deny yourself the opportunity to catch some more of the city's best bands on one stage?

Like the other nights, doors are at 8pm, first band on shortly afterwards. If there are any cookies left at the snack bar, get on that shit. 

It's been a while since I have been able to catch a Peanut Brittle Satellite show and I couldn't be more excited for tonight.  The band will be taking the stage at Nietzsche's to put on a show of insane musical skills. If you are unfamiliar with PBS... they are in the experimental progressive rock genre and will put on a show unlike you've seen from anyone else here in Buffalo. I highly suggest checking out their album Planet Girth, which is available for download from their bandcamp site.  Also playing tonight is Wonder Crayon and Danimal Cannon. The facebook invite claims that upon entering Nietzsche's tonight "you will instantly gain access to higher brain powers previously reserved only for trapeze artists and very cute tiny animals."  Sounds good to me! The show starts at 10 pm. I hope to see you there!

Jazzbollah vs. Jazzbollah is a unique event where many different Buffalo-based musicians share the stage with one other. Tonight there will be 3 different sets with 2 different groups of musicians. At the end of the night all of the participating musicians will join forces to create one super-band for the final set of the evening. For anyone that's into local music, it's quite easy to recommend this event. I have no word on any cover charge, so you may want to call in advance. If you somehow skipped over the poster the show starts at 9PM at Nietzsche's.
