Tonight at McCarthy's Pub on Hamburg Street, we have buffaBLOG favs Andrew J Reimer's Country Punk Extravaganza, singer-songwriter Shane Hall, and The Merchants. The show goes from 7-10:30.


For more musical experiences, theres a Meaty Music Masquerade Ball going on at Broadway Joe's from 9 - 1:30 featuring Cavalcade, Noah Gokey and the Skulls, The Moves, Maybe The Welders and The We Couldn't Afford The Bootsy Collins All Star Project. The last one sounds extra fun with their description on the infringement website consisting of: "These gentleman (term used loosely) will improvise a song in every key of Western Music (excluding sharps/flats) with a subject corresponding to that key, as suggested by the audience."


If you are the costume wearing mood (which should be always) then dress up like an alien or space traveler for a sci-fi night at Nietzsches.  As always, there will be a terrific line up of bands with a Sci-Fi theme to the night.  Its only $3 to get in if you wear a costume.  Make sure you are there for Scantron!!!!


Pick one of these events and mix it in with some Hoopnosis at Day's Park (9pm) and you are all set to infringe away!

Typically, when a band releases a Christmas album, you know you're in for some crap.  Washed up artists have been cashing in for years on that friend or co-worker who know nothing about you, so they resort to stocking your stuffing with another gimmicky Christmas album. 


Side Bar: Giving a Christmas related present to anyone on Christmas day is one of the most inconsiderate things you can do, as you've essentially given them something they can't use for a whole year, idiot.

Anyway, occasionally you'll hear an inspired Christmas album. Actually no, I take that back, this is the only one. Christmas music shouldn't be about boring traditions and cheap sentimentality, it should be about star shaped sunglasses and slap bass solos.  Bootsy Collins' Christmas is 4 Ever is the only Christmas album I can tolerate. Featuring rearranged covers as well as funky originals, Bootsy assembled a team of all star musicians to bring this album to life.  Go to the 4:35 mark of this song to hear Bootsy get on Santa's naughty list.
