Tonight: Real Friends, Candy Hearts, and more

Punk is not dead... Well, pop-punk at least. Real Friends' emotive pop-punk assault is coming through tonight, featuring support from Candy Hearts (who just released a QCA session), and Stickup Kid. Rounding out tonight's lineup is local support from Head North and Cedar Kites. I'm pretty sure these dudes are all about eating pizza and singing about their feelings, so if that sounds like something you're into, you know where to be tonight (count me in).

Doors to the show open at 6:00pm.  If you can find one of the local bands, it's $10 presale, otherwise $13 at the door.  This one's at the Waiting Room.

Quiet Country Audio Debuts New Session feat. Candy Hearts

It looks like Allison Weiss was not the only act from the from the March Radness Tour who hooked up with Quiet Country Audio for a live session this past spring. New Jersey/New York indie punks Candy Hearts, while in town with Buffalo's Pentimento, also made a visit to the Alden studio. The band was able to lay down some live cuts of songs featured on their most recent EP, The Best Ways to Disappear, which was released last November. You can check out Candy Hearts' complete QCA Sessions (video, audio, bio) here. In the mean time, watch this video of the group performing "Miles and Interstates" live at the QCA studio below.

Tonight: March Radness Tour featuring Pentimento, Allison Weiss, and more

"In like a lion, out like a lamb," I think that's the saying.  Well in this case, I think the March Radness tour, featuring the local heroes in Pentimento, will probably be a little more like "in like a lion, out like a lion."  Pentimento's emotional punk rock assault will be the perfect vehicle to get a little rowdy and blow off some steam when they take the stage tonight at Soundlab.

They will be supported by the indie-pop of Kickstarter phenom Allison Weiss (think Tegan and Sara) and the female-fronted pop punkers in Candy Hearts.  Rounding out tonight's lineup will be a set from the always-solid The Traditional and Cedar Kites

Tickets are $10 presale and $12 at the door.  Doors are at 6:00pm.  16+ for all you youngins out there.
