Local Remixer, Edwang, Continues Delivering the Truth

California expat turned New York mainstay, Edwang, delivered yet another noteworthy reworking this week, adding to the producer's rapidly growing discography. In his most recent work, Edwang combines the vocals from 2011's hip hop hit, "Look at Me Now" by Chris Brown ft. Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne and dubs it over Moby's chilled out "A Case for Shame," perfectly counterbalancing Rhyme's signature urgent flow. Don't worry, he edits out Chris Brown. Check it out below.

Buffalo Mash-up Producer, Edwang, Releases Full Length

Yesterday I was excited to see an e-mail from Buffalo–based remixer/mash-up extraordinaire, Edwang in my inbox. You may remember our post from last April where we featured Edwang’s pain med inspired Kendrick Lamar/Youth Lagoon mashup. Turns out, Mr. Edwang has kept busy this summer while nursing an elbow injury by releasing this week his remix/mash-up album aptly titled, How I Spent My Summer Vacation. His re-makes are not as hyper as Girl Talk or Super Mash Bros, as Edwang takes a chilled out, slowed down approach. How I Spent My Summer Vacation features edits of releases by Busta Rhymes, Mike Jones, Lil Wayne and Tupac, among many others. Fans of The Hood Internet would like it. Chill out and download the album here. It’s free.

Buffalo's Edwang Drops Chill Mashup

Edwang: Buffalo remixer, former Bills great? Maybe not on the latter, but the San Diego ex-pat, and current Buffalo resident, does have a thing for remixing Yooth Lagoon tunes with some contemporary hip hop jams. On his dreamy new track that debuted this week, Edwang mixes YL's "Afternoon" and "Poetic Justice" by Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Word is Edwang was nursing a busted up elbow while mixing the tune, resulting in this peracent fueled mashup Turn the lights off and watch your iTunes visualizer to this one.
