Tonight: Kid Gorgeous

Kid Gorgeous could have been the next Every Time I Die. The similiarities are sure there; Buffalo band, technical hardcore sound. Hell, they even shared a few members. Unfortunately, Kid G. disbanded in the early 2000's much to the dismay and dissapointment of fan's, while ETID rose to a level of prominence unheard of for a hardcore band at that time. To this day, Kid Gorgeous' split disc with Dead to the World remains one of my top five hardcore/metal albums.

A couple years back, Kid G. reunited and have stayed active since that time, playing shows, and working hard on their Blue Romance EP, their first release in several years. Tonight, you can find the boy's over at DBGB's (8pm, $10), along with Curse of the King, a newer band featuring members of Herod, as well as KDC and Wreckage. There's no other place to be on a Wednesday night than here folks. Bring the mosh.

Tonight: Everything Falls Apart's final show

It's with a sad face that I report tonight will be Everything Falls Apart's final show. EFA has been kicking around the Buffalo hardcore/punk scene for several years now, and I always felt like they were one of our most underappreciated groups. With raw intensity and a mark for Agent-Orange-esque melodies, they were a sight to see live, and their albums and 7 inches hold a proud place in any vinyl enthusiasts collections. Mohawk Place will be the home of their burial, and patrons of the wake will be happy to know that tonights show is not only FREE, but will take place on the small stage (as all punk shows at Mohawk should). Opening the show are party thrashers the Fucking Hotlights and hardcore heavy-hitters KDC. Come party with the crew one last time. Shows at 7pm (and I feel the need to mention again its FREE).
