Tonight: Sweakeasy Halloween Screening and Costumed Dance Party

 
Tonight, Squeaky Wheel and Sugar City will present the second screening of Squeaky Wheel's film series, which will feature Edgar Allen Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher, the 1928 silent film by Jean Epstein. The film will feature a special, LIVE soundtrack by local sound artist and former runner of The Vault, Kevin Cain. The above posted photo tells the where and when, but facts specific to this event are as follows:

  • Entry is free for Squeaky members and $7 for non-members.
  • The screening starts at 8pm.
  • After the screening, a dance party of large proportions shall ensue, with spinnings from the repertoire of Sugar City DJs.
  • You better bloody well be in costume!
Come out to support Squeaky Wheel, Sugar City, Hardware, the spirit of Halloween, and mindless costumed fun tonight on Allen Street. Cavort!

Tonight: Fire Death and Ilza


And just in case Limp Bizkit isn't on your agenda for tonight, this evening the Vault will host an lineup of experimental music acts put together by Foundry, an up and coming production company based in Buffalo. The event will feature Cleveland based Fire Death (in the territory of free jazz coupled with heavy electronics) and Ilza (minimalist / atmospheric). They'll be accompanied by local sound troubadours VWLS, Ay Fast, and Kevin Cain. Doors open at 8PM and $5 will let you through. See you there.

Preview: WBNY Local Show w/Kevin Cain


You know that guy from the Vault?  You know the tall guy with the beard and glasses?  Well, whether you know his name of not (it's Kevin Cain), he will joining host Michael Moretti this evening as his special guest on the WBNY Local Show.  Gallery runner, show booker, promoter, musician, artist, and probably many more titles I am not even aware of, Cain certainly keeps himself busy.  Look for him fill Mike in tonight on all of his upcoming projects and how he got involved in running the Vault, in addition to spinning some of his favorite local cuts.
