Tonight: Preach Freedom with One World Tribe and Logo City

Tonight DBGB's has an excellent night of world music lined up for Buffalo music lovers in the form of Preach Freedom, One World Tribe and Logo City. With thing's getting squirrelly in the US of A, there's something wonderful when music, bands, and audiences break down the BS barriers between us and get free, and that's definitely what's going to be going on tonight in Allentown. Rusted Root's percussionist and backing vocalist Preach Freedom channels an interesting blend of world music, r&b, and reggae, while Pittsburgh's fiercely multicultural One World Tribe and Buffalo's very own organ soul outfit Logo City fill out the evening's entertainment. The show is 21 and over only, the cover will be reasonable, and the grooves start at 10 PM.

Tonight: One World Tribe and Slip Madigan

Depressed by all the Black Friday fake-ness? Head to Allen Street tonight for something genuinely real and honest: the music of two great bands, One World Tribe and Slip Madigan. I've never been to see either perform, but I've heard great things about both from trusted members of the music scene, and their continued appearances on great showbills verify those reputations. Pittsburgh's One World Tribe, who've played since 1994, are as likely to throw down hip hop as they are to spice things up with a Latin groove, and Buffalo's Slip Madigan has a range of influences that are just as diverse.

The show ($8 at the door) goes on at 10:30 p.m. at Nietzsche's, right across the street from where two other great bands, Aqueous and Funktional Flow, will be performing at DBGB. All bands will surely jam late into the night, so those who woke up at 3 a.m. to stand in line at Wal-Mart may get a little tired.
