Recording artist Mark Norris of Harvest Sum Records, label to many great Buffalo bands over the years including shoegazers Besnyo, bluesy garage rockers Johnny Nobody, Buffalo indie mainstay Roger Bryan & The Orphans, and the late great Old Sweethearts, will be playing Mohawk Place tonight with his band the Backpeddlers. Harvest Sum released Norris' debut album, Stranded Between Stations, with the Backpeddlers, which features members from the Old Sweethearts, a few years back. The Buffalo News proclaimed the album sounded of "The Basement Tapes recorded with Ray Davies instead of Bob Dylan"(sign me up!). Rounding out tonight's bill will be the Two Jakes, whose rowdy, noise-making, bearded gentlemen may look familiar from former band Pennsylvania & Gold, and the Mordaunt Sisters. Tonight's show at Mohawk begins at 9:30pm. Cover is only $5.
